Vanilla panna cotta:

-2 ½ teaspoons of gelatin powder

-1/2 teaspoon of fine sea salt

-400 gr of sweetened condensed milk

-1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Preparation for panna cotta:

Take 6 glasses or small jars and put them on a baking sheet.

Put a quarter of the cream in a small bowl and sprinkle the gelatin powder on top, then leave for 5 minutes.

In a saucepan, heat the sugar, salt and the rest of the cream over medium heat. Add the black tea and mix well to combine. Cover the pot and leave for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, pass the mixture through a strainer and put it back on the fire.

Bring to the boil again, then incorporate the gelatine, making sure that it melts completely. Take the pot off the heat and add the condensed milk and vanilla extract, then transfer to a container with a pouring device.

Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared glasses or jars and leave at room temperature for 20-25 minutes, until it begins to harden a little, but still remains slightly liquid.

Vanilla panna cotta

Pour 60 ml of sour cream into a small bowl and sprinkle gelatin powder on top. Set aside for 5 minutes.

In a medium-sized pot, put the rest of the cream, sugar and salt on medium heat, then incorporate the gelatin. After the gelatin has incorporated, take the pot off the heat and add the condensed milk and vanilla extract. The mixture obtained is left for 15 minutes at room temperature to cool, then pour into glasses.

Put the panna cotta glasses in the fridge for about 30 minutes, until the panna cotta hardens. If you want, you can garnish with whipped cream before serving.

Black tea - healthy or not?

Black tea is a drink with a long history, being consumed in China for over 5,000 years. Like green tea, it is obtained from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis, the difference being the degree of processing.

Black tea is an important source of caffeine, a compound that stimulates the central nervous system and heart and has a diuretic action. One cup of black tea contains about 50 mg of caffeine, and one cup of coffee between 65 and 175 mg.

Black tea also contains polyphenols (antioxidants), minerals and vitamins. The amount of polyphenols present in this type of tea is much lower than that of green and oolong tea, but the amount of caffeine is two to three times higher.

The beneficial effects of black tea
The beneficial effects are attributed to the antioxidants present in it. The most important substances that have antioxidant activity are flavonoids.

It is known that antioxidants, due to the neutralization of free radicals, play an important role in the prevention of chronic diseases.

Fruits and vegetables are the main sources of antioxidants, but in Europe, the recommended dose of antioxidants has not yet been reached and so tea (green, black, oolong) and red wine can be additional sources of antioxidants.

There is a myth that milk added to tea neutralizes the antioxidants present in it. There is no solid scientific evidence to support this claim, with almost all studies to date concluding that milk proteins have little effect on the antioxidant activity of black tea.
