"Amardeen" (pronounced amardin) is a refreshing and very fragrant drink, specific to Ramadan.
It is prepared from dried apricots - "amardeen" - in the form of foils about 1 cm thick. The best "amardeen" is produced in Syria.
There are a lot of desserts specific to Arab countries that are prepared from "amardeen": simple and combined puddings, cakes, cakes with "amardeen" cream, ice cream, biscuits.
- 1 400 gram “amardeen” foil
- 1 liter of water
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar (to taste)

PREPARATION RECIPE “Amardeen” - Dried apricot soft drink:
The “amardeen” foil is cut with scissors (or torn by hand) into smaller pieces.
Put the pieces of "amardeen" in a bowl and pour water over them.
Leave in the fridge for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally with a spoon, to evenly dissolve the "amardeen" pieces.
Put in a blender with rose water and mix well until a homogeneous liquid is obtained.
It tastes good and depending on the taste, you can add sugar
Keep cold until served.
It can be decorated with pine seeds ("snobber"), pistachios or mint leaves.
